The Chess Confederation for America (CCA) and the Paraguayan Chess Federation (FEPARAJ), cordially invite you to the 2025 U20 Pan American Chess Championship, Open and Female to be played from june 13 to june 20 being held in the city of Asuncion, Paraguay.
Dates, location, and venue.
The 2025 U20 Pan American Chess Championship, will be held in Asuncion Paraguay from june 13 (Arrival Day) through june 20 (Departure Day).
The tournament will take place in the CEMINA Centro Militar Naval y Aeronáutico in Asuncion located at – Av. Madame Lynch y Av. Aviadores del Chaco
General Rules
The Pan American Under 20 Championship will be held in accordance with the FIDE General Regulations for Competitions, the applicable CCA Rules, and present Technical Regulations. At any time, any circumstance or unforeseen situation not covered by the above regulations shall be referred to the CCA President for a final decision. You will also have the following general conditions: Absolute and Female Categories U20 born after JANUARY 1, 2005.
STANDARD Two tournaments will be played, one absolute and one female. If there are not enough participants in any of the tournaments, the organization may merge the tournaments to meet matchmaking requirements. Only Federations affiliated with FIDE-CCA can participate. All participants must be registered by their respective Federation. Each National Chess Federation may register any number of players, upon payment of the registration fee, accommodation, food and transportation, which are its responsibility or that of its Federation. RAPID The RAPID tournament is open to all players who meet the age requirements. So it is not exclusive to tournament participants at standard pace
Game System
STANDARD It will be played by the Swiss System in nine (9) rounds or Round Robin, depending on the number of players and at the discretion of the Main Referee. The pace of play will be ninety (90) minutes for the entire game with an increment of thirty (30) seconds per move from the initial move. The tournaments are valid for International Titles and FIDE rating, in accordance with the provisions of the FIDE regulations. RAPID It will be played by the Swiss System in Six(6) rounds or Round Robin, depending on the number of players and at the discretion of the Chief Arbiter. The pace of play will be three 10 ten minutes for the entire game, plus an increment of five (5) seconds per move, starting from the initial move. The rating used in the competition is the FIDE RPD. If there is no rating, the FIDE STANDARD is considered. Participation cost: US$20 The tournament will be valid for FIDE Rating Rapid, in accordance with FIDE regulations.
