The Confederation for Chess in Americas - CCA and the Brazilian Chess Federation - CBX are pleased to invite all the National Federations of America to participate in the Panamerican Amateur Chess Championships 2024 that will take place in Balneário Camboriú, SC - Brazil, from September 24th to 29th, 2024 (Tuesday to Sunday).

1.1 It is open to all chess players registered by their respective national federation (CCA member). Each federation has the right to register as many participants as it wishes.
1.2 To register in the U2300 category, a participant cannot have a published FIDE rating equal to or greater than 2300 points during the year prior to the event. He/She cannot also hold a title higher than FM (or WFM in the case of women) at the time the tournament begins
1.3 To register in the U2000 category, a participant cannot have a published FIDE rating equal to or greater than 2000 points during the year prior to the event. He/She cannot also hold a title higher than CM (or WCM in the case of women) at the time the tournament begins
1.4 To register in the U1700 category, a participant cannot have a published FIDE rating equal to or greater than 1700 points during the year prior to the event. He/She cannot also hold a title higher than CM (or WCM in the case of women) at the time the tournament begins.
1.5 The competition is divided into three categories according to the rating: U1700, U2000 and U2300.
1.6 The events will be played in the women’s section if there are nine (9) or more women representing at least three (3) federations registered in the category. Otherwise, all participants will play in the same unified open (mixed) section.
1.7 Official Players (as defenders of their title) will be considered those classified in the different categories of the Panamerican Amateur 2023 held in Ecuador.
