The Confederation of Chess for America, we are deeply sorry for Jorge Vega Fernandez departure this life. To him, that we own CCA structure as we know it today, to our maximum leader, we say today goodbye. From all 42 countries that made our FIDE America, we are forever grateful.
CCA Board by unanimous decision, we propose to name, in eterum, our main tournament on his honor, Continental Championship Jorge Vega Fernandez. We hope to count with the support and ratification of all brother/sister countries in our next assembly in Dominican Republic, in May 2023.
