Ordinary Assembly 2025

Barranquilla, Colombia
The Assembly was held in the halls of the GHL Hotel in Barranquilla, chaired by Dr. Jose Carrillo Pujol, with the valuable participation of FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich and its Executive Director Victor Bologan.
It was attended by 36 delegates from as many Federations, the full CCA Board, and several FIDE zone presidents.
In his address, President Dvorkovich highlighted the work carried out on the continent over the past three years and the future projects he learned about.

The following is a list of the decisions adopted.
List of decisions:
- President Report
– The tournament schedule is being fully complied with.
– Support is being provided and will continue to be provided to social projects through the Diversity Commission.
– 2026 will likely be declared the Year of Chess in Education and, based on this, will offer POT courses for countries.
– Various federations in the Americas were supported in various forms and will continue to be provided without distinction.
– The President announces support for federations with tickets to participate in the U20 World Rapid and Blitz Tournament in Peru with the aim of having a greater continental presence
– The restructuring of all commissions is announced with a view to a more direct and coordinated final year with the Board.
– It is announced that the Event Regulations proposed at the Assembly will be applied in order to improve them.
– The President will continue to visit several countries in the Americas during the remainder of the year.
– The President asked the Federations to provide the names of their arbiters and trainers for the scaled-up development program.

- Treasurer Report
– The 2024 Statements were approved unanimously (36/36)
– The 2025 budget was approved unanimously (36/36)
– Discharge the Treasurer of his obligations for the 2024 financial statements, approved unanimously (36/36)
- Regulations for CCA tournaments and Financial Regulations
The following regulations were incorporated or updated:
- General Regulations for Tournaments approved ( 35/36)
- Continental Absolute Championship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Continental Women Championship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Panamerican Youth Championship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Panamerican Senior & Veteran Championship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Panamerican Amateur Championship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Zonals Championship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Sub zonals Champioship Regulations approved (36/36)
- Financial Regulations modifications approved (36/36)
- 2026 Tournaments Calendar
All the bids approved in the previous General Assembly were confirmed.
- 2027 Tournaments Calendar
All tournaments received bids, most of them single bids and approved. The only event where bidding took place was the Youth Pan American Championship, where three bids were received: Argentina, Chile, and Mexico. At the time of the vote, Chile withdrew. Mexico was ultimately elected with 25 votes, while Argentina received 11 votes.
