FIDE has just published in its Handbook the new title regulations applicable to World and Pan American events for the under-17, 15, 13, 11, 9, and 7 age categories.
Our Confederation, through its board, submitted a detailed proposal last November to the FIDE QualificationCommission. Its objective was to equate the World and Pan American events for under-18 to 8 age categories (even-age events) with the odd-age events (under-17 to 7 age categories).
CCA is pleased to announce that, following this request from the Americas, the Rating Commission and the FIDE Council evaluated the equivalence of odd-age titles, updating the title table for World and Pan American events in odd-age categories.
We are very happy and grateful for the positive assessment of our proposal, as young players from the Americas and around the world will benefit in their efforts at the chessboard.
