The Chess Confederation for America (CCA), the Brazilian Chess Federation (CBX) and the Federação Catarinense de Xadrez (FCX) are pleased to invite all the national chess federations of the American continent, to the XIV Pan American School Chess Championship 2025 that will be held in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina – Brazil, from August 30th to September 5th, 2025.

Participants and Categories

The event will be divided into twelve (12) categories as follows:

• Category U07 Open (born on January 1st, 2018 or after);
• Category U07 Girls (born on January 1st, 2018 or after);
• Category U09 Open (born on January 1st, 2016 or after);
• Category U09 Girls (born on January 1st, 2016 or after);
• Category U11 Open (born on January 1st, 2014 or after);
• Category U11 Girls (born on January 1st, 2014 or after);
• Category U13 Open (born on January 1st, 2012 or after);
• Category U13 Girls (born on January 1st, 2012 or after);
• Category U15 Open (born on January 1st, 2010 or after);
• Category U15 Girls (born on January 1st, 2010 or after);
• Category U17 Open (born on January 1st, 2008 or after);
• Category U17 Girls (born on January 1st, 2008 or after).

Official Players: Will be considered as official players as defenders of their titles, if eligibles:

• The champions of each category of XIII Pan American School Chess Championship 2024, disputed in Paraguay;
• The champions of each category of the last Central American and Caribbean School Chess Festival 2024, disputed in Honduras;
• The champions of the South American School Chess Championship 2024, disputed in Peru;

Official players must be informed to the organization by the national federations until June 30th, 2025. The registration is only confirmed after payment of the due fees. The organization is 100% responsible for food and lodging for official players from August 30th (dinner) to September 6th (breakfast).

Extra Players: Every Federation may register the number of unofficial players it wishes without restriction, who must cover their registration, transfer, accommodation and registration expenses.

Registration

Official Players: Registration USD 140 (includes Arancel CCA).
Extra Players: Registration USD 160 (includes Arancel CCA).
Rapid: Official Players and Extras USD 30 (optional participation).
Blitz: Official Players and Extras USD 30 (optional participation).

Credential for delegates, coaches, companions: USD 20 each (optional). To access the playing venue during the 15 minutes of the rounds, it is mandatory to have a credential.

Registered participants will have the transfer service (optional) from Florianópolis International Airport (FLN) to the official hotel and will cost, per participant non-refundable, USD 15 (each way) or USD 20 (round trip). The transfer service will work on August 29-30th and September 5-6th, 2025. It is mandatory to inform the flight details at the moment of the registration.

Registrations must be made by the national federation until July 30th by email: anfloripa2025@gmail.com providing the following information: Full name, date of birth, FIDE ID. After July 30, registrations will be subject to organization approval, hotel availability, and the cost per night will increase by USD 10 per person or the proportional amount of the fine. Registrations are personal and non-transferable. No credits or refunds will be made. The registration is only confirmed after the payment of the due fees.

Payments should be made by bank transfer or on the arrival day in cash (in this case, the confirmation of flight is required to be sent by email together with the registration).
